BIOGRAPHY

Anastassiya’s education has covered a wide array of extra-curricular activities that have provided her with additional practical experience early on. During her internship at an innovative legal assistance company that acts in cooperation with prominent Estonian legal academics, she has been involved in addressing specific legal issues that start-up companies face. Participation in All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot court has granted Anastassiya more practical understanding of international law, particularly in the area of migration.

Her Bachelor thesis titled ‘Ambiguity of habitual residence in cross-border succession in European Union’ was written under supervision of Dr Lehte Roots in the area of EU family and succession law and earned the highest grade upon defence. After graduating with Bachelor degree in Law, she continued her education in her alma mater Tallinn University of Technology and was granted a full scholarship for the duration of a two-year Master program. During her internship in a Baltic law firm, she specialised in international law. Anastassiya learnt valuable experience in licensing, migration, maritime, and labour matters. She is expected to graduate spring 2019 with a MA thesis titled ‘Data Privacy Regime and Confidentiality Requirements to Using Cloud Technology by Law Firms’, that will evaluate effects of the data privacy regime on the legal practitioners and compliance with such.
