A weapons license in Estonia requires that the applicant passes both a theoretical examination and a practical examination.

The theoretical part of the examination includes the legal regulations as well as more practical matters related to the use of the firearm.

The practical part consists of an evaluation of the handling and shooting proficiency of the applicant.
